What we collect

If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. If you have an account, we collect your account information (email and authentication details) and the content of the conversations you create in the app — the prompts you send and the responses returned.

Why we collect it

Waitlist emails are used to notify you when beta access opens. Account and conversation data are used to operate the product: authenticating you, generating model responses, and tracking usage against your monthly spend limit.

Conversation content is sent to third-party model providers

This is important, so we state it plainly: to function, cothought sends the content of your prompts and conversation history to OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic — the providers of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude — so they can generate responses. Do not share anything in a conversation that you would not want transmitted to those providers under their respective terms and privacy policies.

How it's stored

Data is stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database (Neon). We use the following third-party processors to run the service:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • OpenAI, Google, Anthropic — AI model responses

Requesting deletion

You can request deletion of your account, conversations, or waitlist entry at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will remove your data from our database; note that data already transmitted to model providers is governed by their own retention policies.
